Bollywood celebrities like Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor, Aamir Khan were among the early voters at the Lok Sabha Polls in Mumbai on Thursday (April 24).

While southern acting legends Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were among the early voters in Chennai. Rajinikanth, who will be seen in Kochadiiyaan soon, was the first to cast his vote from the polling booth in his vicinity. Rajinikanth was the first voter at the Stella Maris College polling booth.

Kamal Haasan, who was accompanied by his companion Gauthami, told reporters that ‘I have done my bit.’

Polling began at 7 AM for the third and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, where 338 candidates are testing electoral waters in 19 Lok Sabha seats.

Speaking to the media after casting her vote, National Award winning actor Vidya Balan told the media that ‘it is important to vote before pointing a finger at the leaders.’ Feeling proud of ‘The Dirty Picture’ actress filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt said, “Vidya Balan votes as Mumbai sleeps.”

Vidya Balan, who lives in suburban Juhu after her marriage with UTV head Siddharth Roy Kapur, cast her vote at a Chembur booth. When asked about her voting in Chembur, she said laughing, “Why not.. this gives me a chance to come to Chembur..I do come often”. “Its my responsibility to vote…To point fingers at others and (if) I face a problem, I need to have this on my finger,” she said displaying her inked finger.

‘Bhaag Mikha Bhaag’ actor Farhan Akhtar, who is all set to host the IIFA awards in Tampa Bay Florida, was also early to cast his vote.
